You've done all you can for her and she is a happy and healthy dog at the moment. Fingers crossed that she stays that way.

What a lot has been happening while I've been away.

Good news so far about Phoebe.

Sorry that Wanda isn't quite ready for the gold test, it'sfrustrating, but as we all know,Wanda is a gold star dog anyway.

So sorry to hear the Nellie story - what a lovely looking dog. Shame the relationship didn't work.

We've spent last week with my latest grandson and Jet, in the same house. We introduced them carefully, effectively saying to Jet, "This is one of our pack, but not your responsibility" The real smile moment came when he crept up behind my daughter and sniffed at her hair, then carefully made his way round the side of the sofa and sniffed the baby's head then went and lay down looking quite relaxed as if his nose had given him the right answer.

I've just learned that of the 5 dogs who took the gold test yesterday (would have been 6 if Wanda had been there) only 1 passed. Now in fairness I imagine the weather conditions didn't help for the outside work and if the dogs were then cold and unsettled on that aspect they may have also been easily distracted for the indoor sections too - and Wanda would have been exactly the same in those conditions - if she had been asked to walk beside me off the lead in the rain she could well have run straight to the car instead and begged to be put inside!
But it might mean another test (in spring or early summer) is more likely as there will be at least 5 of us hoping to take it now. I feel slightly less cheated than I did.

Ha! As you say, Baroness, the weather wouldn't have helped, but I can't help feeling perhaps the instructor might need to reflect on that failure rate.
