I'm a pro dog walker who knows a lot of hounds so I'm used to dogs I know showing their enthusiasm. I think they think she'll do it with everyone, but I think it's just her select few 'targets'.

They get extra fuss from him and a particularly waggy tail

It was the first time I'd had to make that decision and I found it a massive responsibility, but stepping back from the emotion of it at the time I'm happy that it was the right decision for Honey. I know some people will think it is very soon, but the house was incomplete without a dog, and there are so many dogs needing homes. So after scattering Honey's ashes at her favourite walk site on Friday, yesterday we went to the South Yorkshire English Springer Spaniel Rescue centre and have now taken in Ollie, a five year old black and white Springer. Early days but he's shaping up to be a super dog.
