On Monday Cookie nearly choked himself by swallowing a chicken wing without chewing.

The best we get from Phoebe is undigestrd grass that needs a helping had on the way out.

I had a GSD who ate through the cable to the storage heater! Thankfully it was during the day when it wasn't drawing any current.

I'm so glad it's not just Labs who eat bizarre things! The story about Jet made me laugh :-)

We have that grass issue with Wanda too. Brilliant story about Jet :-)

We had a funny moment at class yesterday.... we were doing 'group recall' where the owners all stand in a circle facing outwards with the dogs sitting in front of them (facing them and making a bigger circle). One by one the owner has to recall their dog. Our instructor observed everyone and told people when to call their dogs. She said that in order not to distract the dog or make it anticipate its turn she would use only the owner's names 'David, call your dog' etc.

Unfortunately Wanda knows my name so when it was my turn Wanda shot up on hearing my name and turned round to the teacher to see what she was saying about me.......Luckily she came straight back on the recall even though we were all laughing at that point. I think she was just surprised to hear my name because usually the instructor's use the dog's name e.g. 'Good wait from Wanda' etc........

we are off for our second time at the new training class in a little while... and I still haven't managed STAND STAY or round behind to heel..... putting the treat in my right hand to take him round behind me just results in a bemused dog with a WTF do you mean expression on his face!

we'll see!

Interesting from BBL about her trainer's use of names, our trainer mainly says handler do whatever but when we are doing different moves individually he uses the handlers name. Wanda is as sharp as a ... sharp thing :)

In our new class there is what appears to be an elderly tiny maybe jack russel. In the off lead weaving pole exercise it was hard not to laugh as it very slowly wended its way through!

Everyone except Indi did weave, sit stay, while handler walked away and then called dog to go round them to heal... one or two just wandered off which made me feel so much better! Its a much nicer class than the last one makes me more relaxed too and the run about at t he end is all fun and no aggression. Lovely :)
