We'll take Jet's travel crate so he has a safe space to call his own and to sleep in. And his own food. And a jumper that smells of me...

Apparently there won't be any other house guests, just the GSD that lives there. The size difference, plus Jet's experience of random attacks by my daughter's GSD cross (now rehomed after it growled at the baby) contributes to Jet's nervousness, but if the GSD is able to be calm then it could be a positive learning experience.

In what was one of the most horrific 15 minutes in my recent history today J managed to lock his car keys inside the car with Wanda in the car at the time :-o I got a frantic phone call to bring his spare keys (it's been 30 degrees here today). Luckily they weren't too far away, the car was parked in the shade and Wanda seemed none the worse by the time we got the car open again.
She got out, had a drink then a paddle in some water nearby too (but not a drink from the lake in case there were algae problems) and came home quite happy... before heading into the living room and sitting by the electric fire grumbling for it to be switched on :-o

Glad she was none the worse, and oblivious to her ordeal! One of my dogs is on a permanent mission to get as hot as possible.

Oh yes, glad Wanda is ok.

That's a very funny pic Fergus.

Jess is on a mission to get hot too. When we eat outside she always plonks herself in the brightest hottest midday sunshine like some insane sunbather, and it takes quite a while before she realises she'd be more comfortable in the shade.

That's a lovely picture! Wanda is also a sunbather. I allowed her a home made 'doggy ice-cream' today which helps to keep her cool :-)

We have been hot today so didn't go to puppy class; I just couldn't face it.

We didn't go to dog class last night - I forgot! Jet is making sure he stays in the shade - as an all black heat-absorber he knows when it's too hot to sunbathe.

Son took Frankie to his first "puppy play school " training session yesterday - thoroughly enjoyed it and came back enthused about getting Frankie well trained. They are using clicker training.
