My first batch of home made doggy ice-cream has just gone in the freezer. I hope to be able to report back on how it's been received tomorrow :-)

I went to the local wholefoods/organic shop for the ingredients... when I make 'human' icecream (which is only a couple of times a year as it's a faff as I don't own an icecream machine) I just buy the ingredients at the supermarket.... but only the best goes into the dog's ice-cream!!

Thanks for the welcome.
Mrs B also reports him eating the lillies that are growing in the garden.

Next week we're getting a wolf hound. Any experience out there?

I think he may be the first deer hound for this thread... but do keep us all posted.

Is the agency you do this for nationwide? We would much rather have Wanda stay in a family home (preferably with no other dogs of their own or children any younger than teenage) than go to kennels because then we might be able to imagine taking a holiday without her.... ;-)

You'll need to share your ice cream recipe with the royals BBL. Apparently they are in trouble for letting George share his ice cream with the dog.

BaronessBL, it's a company called Barking Mad - there may be other similar ones. They seem to cover most of the country:

barkingmad.uk.com

We never meet the owners, unless by accident in the park, and it works fine for us. I'm pretty certain the dogs enjoy it too.

Thanks Tony - a friend had to rehome their dog because unfortunately it was unpredictable around children (including their own family kids) and I believe they had used Barking Mad and rehomed the dog via a BM contact. I will have a look at our nearest BM representative, we may be right on the edge or slightly out of the catchment area but it's worth a look for sure....

First puppy class today and Ernie was a total star. I had been expecting them to let the pups run around and socialise but we were straight down to business. He is a quick learner so far.

We were supposed to tag along to a border terrier tweet up this afternoon but my sister broke down and had to be rescued. Probably just as well as E was exhausted after class.

Flossie has always found school exhausting, HP. You don't realise how much they have to concentrate, using their brains ;-)
