Good to hear MM - Ollie seems to be fine today after his xrays yesterday.

Love hearing about the puppies - we've had three springers, but they've all been adult rescue dogs so have never experienced puppies first hand.

My sister arrived today with her 3 year old border terrier, her 2 year old son and nearly 40 year old grumpy husband. Bedlam! Ernie has harassed the BT constantly. The toddler has harassed QP.

We are just about surviving. We have spent nearly 5 hours at the beach. Everyone was totally content for 4 hours plus. Dogs behaved beautifully. Then toddler irritated teen. Teen got a little frustrated and it all went a bit pear shaped. Naps all round.

New to the thread. We don't have a dog of our own, but we board dogs through an agency. We love it. All the fun but none of the long term commitment, and it's great to get your house back in order after the guest has gone home. We love having the different characters and personalities of the pooches, and we each have our own top 5 of the ones we've had so far.
We've just said goodbye to Rufus, a 1yr old Lab/Pointer, who was a bundle of energy. He would also eat any foodstuff left within reach, i.e. on the kitchen worktop. Everything had to be put away, and a moment's inattention could be disastrous. Daughter 1 made some cinnamon buns, which were briefly left to cool. He ate 3 and nibbled a fourth in a matter of seconds.
He also brought new meaning to the word disgusting. On one walk he grabbed another dog's full poop bag. He knew he wasn't meant to have it and evaded all attempts to catch him. He looked at me nonchalantly and swallowed it whole. Later that night after dinner there were ominous noises coming from his stomach, and he threw up his barely digested dinner on the carpet ... and then started eating it again. I took the pragmatic view, and let him do it, as it was less mess for me to clear up. Next morning out on the lawn he regurgitated the bag - still whole.
Despite all that, he was great fun and we'll miss him.

Crikey... I'm surprised his owners wanted him back to be honest ;-)

That is gross, but very funny (and as a Lab owner, only too credible ;-) ). Welcome to the thread Tony :-)
