That (naked) lady obviously doesn't know the first rule of being a naturist - always carry a towel around with you to park your bum on when sitting down! ;)

I was under the misguided impression that the first rule of being a naturist was - play badminton at every opportunity, and if shuttlecocks aren't available, play volleyball.

Perhaps I have been watching the wrong films?

Nah Nicholls595 .. you play miniten or boules when not sunning yourself or splashing around in the pool (or go and sit in the sauna or steam room .. or go and have a beer!). You obviously need to upgrade from those old films of yours ;)

It's that film that Sid James goes to watch at the beginning of Carry on Camping

As a barbershop singer, I always tune up before singing in the shower. Yesterday's song in the gym shower was "Heart of my heart (The story of the rose)"

Not disgusting but just puzzling. In the ladies' changing room showers at the gym there are 4 cubicles + 2 extra showers which are in the open bit. A queue formed after spin this morning and I had to shower quickly and get to work. No-one in the queue wanted to go in the open area, so I walked past and had a quick shower there; the spin instructor then came in after me and did the same.

False modesty and unrealistic ideals Red Squirrel .. there's a lot of it about. I've always been under the impression (generalizing massively here) that women are more prone than men to wanting to change and shower in private. People (women especially) get bombarded by advertising and the media generally persuading them their body isn't 'perfect'. As a result they feel they should avoid inflicting it on others and offending them by hiding it away. Bodies are bodies and they are never going to look the same as the false, airbrushed versions they see in magazines. Its a shame more people don't 'get' the idea that bodies are bodies - complete with the wrinkles, wobbly bits and saggy bits that are the norm rather than the opposite.

Or perhaps it's related to the remembered trauma of collective showering at school after PE. :-(

Yes it is a shame. The women in the queue looked to be young, toned and smooth-skinned. I'm a 51-year old, not so toned creature with lots of broken veins on my legs and plenty of other imperfections but in a hurry to have a shower and get to work.

I do remember being herded through the school showers. :( ... but after that I joined various sports clubs and it was actually v sociable to dry off etc after showering and chat. I often change near the spin instructor and a couple of others - we talk about the session, our training and sometimes share shampoo and body lotion if we've forgotten to pack it.

Whilst I completely agree with you WtnMel, I loathe the sight of my body so I wouldn't dare inflict it on any else!! :-o
