I ran 35:28 @ Loch Ness 10k (which is net downhill so probably worth ~36:00 on the flat) then just under 79 minutes about a month later - so yes I would agree that mid to high 36:xx for 10k is going to be a good indicator.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
I have never managed a good half and 10k close to one another, more down to scheduling than anything else. At my best I run a 10k in 36.3x so that mark would be there or there abouts.

I'm running the 10K at Eton on Saturday, it's as flat and fast as you can get I think, so will go out at 36:00 pace, will see what happens. I feel I should be able to string 2x18s together when rested and fed.

Good luck MPH, lets hope the wind calms down for the weekend.

Cambridge half for me on Sunday, I'll set off at sub 80 pace and see how it goes. I have a feeling its going to end up as 80 minutes and a good number of seconds.

Good Luck Guys- Bath Half was fun.

Weather on Saturday night suggested a gail, 30mph winds, but on the morning nice, bit windy, but not terrible.

10k was 35:17 (I think) Finished 1:14:40- PB

Good luck MPH & Chris, I think you have a very good shout. Hope the weather stays good for you.

Nice running James!!

Paris half for me on Sunday. Had my last "big" session on Friday night, 8.5M w/6M progressive in 6:42/6:27/5:48/5:27/5:26. Last 2M were downhill (~2% gradient) but it was a massive confidence booster.

Feel in the shape of my life, just need to keep my head and not start too fast.

Sweet Duckinator! bit of a taper weeK Whats the plan?

Thanks Chris- My 10k time was same as Cardiff half where I got 75:17, so wanted same again, (nearly to the second) and let my marathon training get me though the second half, which it really did.

Keep up the work guy, looking good.

:)

Taper plan - 3M tempo this evening, running it as I expect to run the first 3M on Sunday (so not too taxing). Then 5/4/3 miles Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday, off Friday, 3 Saturday then 13.1M @ HMP on Sunday ;)
