Good work with that tempo run.

Shall look forward to those come Feb,ready for Bath Half, not really looking for a PB at Bath with tired legs though marathon training, but will give it a go.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
Finally got out for my first interval session in a long while (track was iced up for the last two weeks so my return was even more delayed), and ended up joining the fast boys for 7 x 700m. Hung on off the back (a couple of them will be vying for the Inverness Half win) but glad to have done it.

7 x 700. Deliberately alliterative 57.5?

Time seems to be flying by, and I realise I need to think about a taper (or lack of) it. Never having targeted a half as an 'A' race before I'm a little unsure. Wokingham is a week on Sunday (same day as Lossie) and I'm planning to run as normal until this Sun, doing only a gentle 10 that day rather than 16. Then do pretty much nothing for the week before, maybe some gentle runs if I get bored.

Would be interested to know what others are planning?

The Duckinator
I tend to find a short tempo on the Tuesday, then easier Wednesday to Saturday with one of those days off works for me (I often take the penultimate day off before a big race). If the long run the week before is 60-70 mins @ an easy pace I find that works for me. I don't respond well to huge reductions in training volume as it tends to make me sluggish.

Progression run this evening - 8:19/7:47/7:04/6:33/6:21/6:11/5:48 then 2:47 for last half mile. Feeling strong and fitness progressing well - weigh in on Sunday to see how the first month has gone...

Thanks for sharing your approach duck. Think I'll try something similiar, but perhaps even less on Weds-Sat.

This week has been uninentionally less too, but higher quality, so I'm fine with that. Tempo runs on Tues and Thur (16km on treadmill with 11km at 3:35km/h). Hoping for a good parkrun tomorrow.

Sorry to here that Chris :(

Yes, I don't really enjoy treadmill running but seem to find I can nuke out atypical paces without too much problem.
