Swedish herrings party. This involves (amongst other things) herrings, knackerbrot (a bit like Ryvita), boiled potatoes, salad, sauces. All must be washed down with beer and schnapps and much toasting is done with the schnapps too. I may have trouble getting out of bed in the morning. |

It wasn't a dorade, it was John Dory (3 pages ago). I've heard of that party Alpen; I used to work with a Swede. Tonight I had Indian chicken and potato stew + rice. Oh and a toasted sardine sandwich for starters. |

I was very good on the booze front this year, one guy said he couldn't remember going on to a bar and drinking for another couple of hours although he does remember speaking to his wife (on the phone in England) after midnight. She told him he ought to go to bed and not go out for another drink!
