But if it's on a road it is at least accessible to a cyclist. Do you have a bike?

StuHolmes - I don't have a bike and tbh, wouldn't want to cycle down that lane either!
AlpenRose - I've tried removing the dangerous bugs again. Good news - the site has let me remove them this time. Bad News (for me) - one of the replacement bugs is up that bloody great hill again! ;)

I'm up to 8th place. Not bad for a non-cyclist...

Yup it's odd that that fetchpoint bugs preferred habitat is at high altitude.
BarefootEm, that's understandable 😂. (If mrferret played, I'd likely be accidentally infecting his bugs as I'm a lark & he's an owl).
Having said that today's bug is at sea level along my route to pool :-)
NDWDave bunting & luck to go up more. Watching with interest!

ferret, we both play so in order to be fair we take it in turns as to who logs a run first, my bug today is just behind our house :-)

I've been reminded this week how this game compels us to do things we otherwise may not

Tuesday night I found myself floundering about on a fogbound fellside just to make sure I cleared the bug that was up there and last night I ran a few hundred yards up the footpath- less slip road off the Kendal bypass to collect the higgs boson :). Clearly, I've survived both and don't think I was actually in any mortal danger as a result of either - but would I have normally considered either to be a good idea?

Stay safe out there people ;)

I'm still a newbie to this, but my current strategy is to plan my Sunday long run in a route which sweeps up all the bugs I couldn't get to during the week and then carry them away...which last week saw me running up a major A road with no footpath, dodging into the verge when traffic appeared. This week will be fine though, scooping them up along the canal towpath.

😂 foggy fell side - not sure about by-pass in the dark but probably safer than a country lane rat-run. Most of us have a sense of self preservation :-) & its the fun of the game when you do the unexpected. Non-driving pedestrians/cyclists in dark clothing who don't realise how vulnerable/difficult to see they are, are my worst nightmare as a driver.
The only right way Mrs Jigs - luckily mrferret doesn't fetch & also doesn't seem to notice when I choose strange routes for our walks. We're house hunting so go walkabout a lot

SimonClarke - Remember you don't have to sweep up you bugs BEFORE you leave your home circle. As long as your route takes you out of the circle then the bugs you visit BEFORE or AFTER will be squished.

1) The scoreboard and markers don't 'reset' on the first of the month any more. They work on a rolling 30 day system.
2) You only need to worry about red bugs.
