Good evening my monoglot athletic friends.

Just popped in to advertise a fantastic local opportunity for you to see the light and turn to the Dark Side. Swim in our gorgeous new pool, cycle the beautiful braes of Rossie before the greedy bastard sunshine developers ruin it all and then have a wee trot around the South Links, avoiding the leavings of the traveller camp (oh, did I just spoil the moment?!)

But be quick, there's loads of early interest and last year's inaugural event sold out. Some Fleet Feeters already signed up so there may even be people you know.

And you get to put me in your sticker book. What a bonus! :-)

Excellent, it is an out and back, but we could go along the river on the way back, just to change it a bit. I am thinking the track might be icy in places, I will check it out tomorrow on my way home.

may have been answered, but do you need to be a member of SRC to join in with the saturday long-runners? going to training for my first ultra soon (speyside in august) and would prefer a bit of company as opposed to back roads in/around laurencekirk on my jack jones over the summer!...

Hi Scorge, all are welcome on our runs, the Sat runs aren't official club runs so no probs re membership.

Not sure where you are up to with mileage but our last long run before D33 is next Sun and we are doing 28 miles running from Stoney to Balmakewan and having lunch in the café if you fancy?

Could you fmail me your email address and I'll stick you on our messages

Scorge are you in the SRC fb group? We always post our longest /most interesting runs there. Do you live in Laurencekirk? One of our members does - Craig Donoghue. He and his wife Jaquie organise the gala tower hill race in July. We usually run from Stoney to Laurencekirk to do that race.

hello to yourself JRitchie! got to have some AB30 representing, hah...

i'll get on to the facebook group, sounds a good call! been living in LK for about four years, would rather still be in aberdeen (the morning train commute is ghastly) but at least there's plenty of choice for the long slow runs down here, punishing hill-reps up the garvock, and the new community campus gym is nice for cross training/football etc.

did the tower race 2 years ago, and it's in the diary for this year. see you at/around the back....
