It was very cold with that Easterly wind smacking us in all directions. I really felt for those who were a bit slower or having to walk a bit towards the end as they must have been freezing. Bad weather seems to bring out the best in me in half marathons as I just run like i'm on fire to get it over quicker! 1:53:5x for me - I think it's 57 secs but not sure. Definitely under 1:54! |

Excellent PBs ladies! They sound like tough conditions. I'm pretty sure last year we were wearing just vest and shorts for Fraserburgh. shanksi has returned from the GMC. He tells me that WKP won a prize! Superb |

The one thing I didn't find it and that was cold... 2.29 for me (not sppedy) but 10mins better than Bristol in Sept.

It was fine when you were running but the minute I stopped I was shivering. The shower I had when I got home was the best I've ever had!

Well done ladies. Sounds like some excellent running in horrendous conditions. We seem to have been lucky with the weather up here in tropical Highland so far. Ok so tropical might be over stating it but not much more than drizzle and a chill in the air.

This was the first time I've done Fraserburgh HM (and my second HM) and I seemed to have picked a bad year weather wise! The wind and rain for the first hour was shocking. And having to avoid as many puddles as possible was a job in itself. I really struggled at the end. Hated having to walk some of it. Think my soaking running bottoms made my legs feel like lead. Many thanks for the encouragement from crooked smile who helped me the last couple of miles. (I was the drowned rat in pink top who needs to remember and take spare socks & trainers in future!). |
