Although my wrist hr monitor is a waste of time usually, it may have collected some half decent info for a change yesterday. Best estimate for max hr is 196. Thought it might be of interest? Apologies for poor format.

Great run yesterday Nelly. Congratulations again!

I'm looking to follow P&D schedule which is quite heavily based on base ! plus every other week some Tempo at HMP.

What MHR% do you think that will link to ?

Thanks Nelly, very good pacing and effort all the way round and, I think, the HR figures reflecting that for a well trained runner.

Couple more questions ;-) - was there a sprint finish and what was your max HR?

Fantastic running NN, your HR says you awem to have got the most out of yourself :-)

Dvorak, the last 0.18mile average was at 6:05/m and that was 184 bpm avg, with a peak at 186 bpm.

To be brutally honest I think it shows I lost concentration between miles 6 and 9. Lacked the confidence to push slightly harder in that section.

Hi all,
I'd be grateful for some feedback on last Sunday's Abingdon Marathon stats,
My max hr is probably calculated too high but I've not retested for a few years.
I started to fade around 15 miles (legs were knackered) but as I got slower my hr went down.
I'd welcome your thoughts on this.

You data is locked but

From personal experience , legs went possibly caused by carbon depletion so basically you went bang.

HR drops quite simple because you are too tired to push the effort.

Thanks Gobi that makes sense.
I thought my data was public? Any idea how I unlock it?

About This Thread

Everything you need to know about training with a heart rate monitor. Remember the motto "I can maintain a fast pace over the race distance because I am an Endurance God". Mind the trap door....

Gobi lurks here, but for his advice you must first speak his name. Ask and you shall receive.

A quote:

"The area between the top of the aerobic threshold and anaerobic threshold is somewhat of a no mans land of fitness. It is a mix of aerobic and anaerobic states. For the amount of effort the athlete puts forth, not a whole lot of fitness is produced. It does not train the aerobic or anaerobic energy system to a high degree. This area does have its place in training; it is just not in base season. Unfortunately this area is where I find a lot of athletes spending the majority of their seasons, which retards aerobic development. The athletes heart rate shoots up to this zone with little power or speed being produced when it gets there." Matt Russ, US International Coach
