Happy Christmas Essex Fetchies.

I am doing the Flitch Way marathon on New Years Eve, anyone know what conditions are like? Thanks from Suffolk.

Will be a bit muddy for sure... if you got a brand new pair of white running shoes for Christmas, I probably wouldn't wear them for it ;-)

Thanks Baroness, I have a pair of trail shoes that are lovely to run in, but very near the end of their running lives, the mud is what is stopping them falling to bits.

They sound perfect. We did a trail run in Essex just before Christmas, not quite on the Flitch Way but not all that far from Braintree and that was pretty muddy. But it's largely the old railway line isn't it so it may not be as bad as many of the paths.

It is mainly old railway, there is a disclaimer about mud too, so I think there will be some easier sections and some leg sapping ones.

I'm doing Flitch way too. I was wondering whether to wear road or trail shoes. Sounds like trail shoes might be the better bet.

Hi Fitz, you may gave the mail from the RD in your inbox, he is recommending trail shoes. Good luck.
