I didn't listen tonight but I'm pleased to hear something sensible is happening on Helen's behalf at last. Did anyone see David Blunkett's piece in the S Times yesterday, complaining that the portrayal of the police handling of the case was inaccurate and unfair compared to what would happen IRL?

I would have hoped the scriptwriters would have tried to be accurate about that. :-(

:-( I was thinking of you Twodogs, I'm relieved-but-annoyed to hear that they've got it wrong.

I agree, no idea why they've done it so badly though.

There's plenty of commentators saying how well and accurately the whole storyline has been done.

We need a maverick cop who doesn't play by the rules but always gets results.

The world and his/her wife seem to be divided as to whether various aspects of the story are accurate - and how they'd like things to be written. For every report that cries 'Melodramatic tosh!' I've read another that sighs and says, 'Uunfortunately rings true.'

I'm not criticising the story other than given the close family and friends it dragged on for a lot longer than any situation I've seen. What I find bizarre is how much research they clearly did about DA, yet they did clearly did little or none into the police angle or they did and just didn't think it would fit.
