Shady past, that chap. Ladykiller? A bit obvious, Shirley?

I heard Mr Moffitt has heard about how pathetic Clara's character was with the previous doc and is supposed to develop her further.....well now that the obvious infatuation has been diverted.

i liked the fact it was a dalek story without a "let's blow up the entire dalek fleet (again)" ending.

FWIW, a friend of mine is predicting that the woman in 'heaven' is actually the TARDIS.

Haven't quite finished watching Saturday's yet - (had to come to work this morning, darn it!) - but just realised the theme tune now has clock chimes in it. Or at least, I think it does. Given the whole Roman numerals on an spiral clock facething, it makes sort of coherent sense, but not sure whether it not just a bit "look at us being clever now".

That said - Capaldi is hugely better in this episode than he was in the first, some of the one liners are brilliant ("Great idea for a movie, bad idea for a proctologist" & "She cares so I don't have to"), and as others have mentioned, even Clara shows some signs of acting - although I do think she was chosen more for the visual appeal. ;-)

And where do we think Mr Pink was a soldier? (Remember the soldier lady in this episode was called Blue. Once upon a Time....)

re the opening credits - they were designed by a fan who put them on youtube. BBC liked it so much they adapted them for the real credits.

the fan pointed out that the doc is a time lord, not a space lord, hence time graphics make more sense than space graphics.

My son hates the new graphics but I will explain that to him. I've not been overawed by the first 2 episodes but they always seem to ease in with a new doctor so I will reserve judgement for now.

Nooooooooooo, Dr Who has a downer on Soldiers - rethinks whether to give this one a miss and start with the next! Does the BBC not realise they could lose potentially 100,000 viewers with this somewhat dated hatred of all things military!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mark, maybe Pink the soldier lady's brother that was supposed to have died she she was being rescued by the TARDIS is in fact Mr Blue, and perhaps he did not die but was accidentally thrown back in time to earth? Or he might have just died as they say he did.
