Lovely recovery run for me today; perfect conditions and sweet tunes on the shuffle. Tip-toed around any potential hazards, no falls to report.

Hope your recovering well luna.

That's a shame G - that you won't even make it a social 3:30 or so. But it's a long way to go for smart folk like us who live away from London and the SE.

Ouch Luna. And such a lame way to get injured too. Go and sit in the corner of shame.

Baz - apart from the thinking about replacing (or chasing) sessions that didn't go well; I basically agree that a spell of a few weeks with some faster than MP work is the right direction, and PR is one way to get some of that in. I'm probably in the same boat - I can't get to one this weekend, but I expect to next Saturday instead.
If the sessions are going how you want them to solo, then take a tip from jda - split the 'work' in to pieces. 3 x 2m with 2min recovery in between is going to be *almost* the same load as 6m tempo, and you might find you hold form and pace a little better as well.

WW - in what way are you still struggling? Your training is looking very good.

Thanks Paul. I could probably do a 3:55 plod but even 3:30 might be a struggle. Might still go just for the atmos, if MrsS(rrr) wants to come and we maybe visit some family and friends down south. :-) G

Thanks for the add ptb.

Where do you fit the parkrun in? End of a long run and if so what pacing strategy? I did a 20.30 a couple of weeks ago towards the end of a 18 miler but it does feel strange with my competitive instincts to run that sort of time in a race (albeit a parkrun).

still in some discomfort PtB; walking down stairs 'normally' is an issue. Perhaps not the best foundation to be in marathon training on!

I'd be as guilty KinkyS, although I rarely run them hard. Like to tag them onto the end of long runs as helps get the last 3 miles done, although that does require an early start - as far as pacing goes MP is about as much competitive spirit as I can muster by that point!

Uyuni that's exactly what I use a parkrun for to finish off a long run at the right intensity or to hit MP.

My lower back hurts 😬

sensible comments as ever PtB. You should be a coach and charge us ;-)

OWM, parkrun for me depending on route is c10-11 miles with WU/WD and the race and that works well and doesn't impact my LR the next day too much as long as its an LSR. Its in my mind to make Sunday a hilly one with the benefits that brings and avoid any thoughts of a faster last 5 miles type stuff....

There's an "are" that should be an "aren't" in my post #5968 Baz, so you'd get a discount for that. It would all get very complicated. You can buy me a pint to celebrate (your race) on 23/4 :-)

I'll use parkrun as Baz describes too - about 4m before and after as parkrun-commute, then 3m hard in the middle.
