Singing to myself on this beautiful sunny morning, taking a morning off work for MLR, stupidly twisted my ankle leaping off a stile into some mud, a hidden stone turned my foot. Frightened lots of walkers with my yelling, and sat on my bum in the mud in shock, but luckily, as it was 7 miles from home, a couple with their dog gave me a lift home, mud and all. Damn painful, so the weekend 24 miler is definitely on hold, and I'll just have to see how things pan out this week.
Don't jump off stiles folks. Or wear your glasses if you do.

Bad luck lunaman, hope it's nothing too drastic. Just goes to show that we are always only one slip from disaster

ouch luna, take care and hope it is OK.

I had a very near miss last night. caught my left foot on a slightly raised drain cover and knew I was going down. Not quite sure how but I was preparing for feeling the skin rash on my hands and knees, it felt like I was literally 6 inches from impact when lo, my left foot landed and I managed to stay on my feet.

I am thinking about doing a parkrun test tomorrow, but the 41mph winds along with heavy rain my make it tough going and maybe head to the less exposed option rather than the one along the promenade....

ah, Luna. Look after yourself man....I am still struggling a bit with mine that I did in the 1st week of December :-(

Beautiful spring morning 12 for me today in the Surrey hills. Ran too quick, that or I am starting to get fitter. Really hoping it's the later.

Uyuni - may I say again that was a brilliant session on the tempo. I hope it fills you with loads of confidence.

Baz - the parkrun police will be in in a minute, look out ;-)

As long as you don't call a parkrun a race you're probably safe. I've been told off before but if I'm giving a 5k parkrun full beans I'm calling it a bloody race alright ;-)

Lots of falls on here, something I don't want to be a part of. Get well soon Luna.

Baz you're either falling over or close to a catastrophe.

I was hoping to use it in a way as a replacement to a poor tempo earlier in the week which wasn't even MP in the end, however the forecast wind will make that a challenge anyway. I know that's not technically right to make up for a poor session, but this weeks schedule made it possible. I do think I need to fit in some faster than MP stuff and those are the runs I find hardest to nail in training, hence the parkrun idea

I also have only done about 3 parkruns in the last year, so its not as if I am overdoing them like I did a while back.

Anyway, glad that no one commented on my 'almost' falling and I seem to have gotten away with that ;-)

Ta folks. Baz, I took one for you there! Good reminder WW too, I should go easy on the return to running. But things are looking good for you there.

Technically though mine wasn't a fall I guess - just twisted my foot on landing on a hidden boulder (okay tiny pebble), on flat ground, in a meadow. God it really doesn't sound like it's very hardcore does it. But then most accidents happen in the home after all!

Or sneezing - 6 weeks lost so far, probably not going to go to London at all (certainly won't be sub 3:15 - please could you remove me from sidebar Paul? Thanks)

Train hard people - cos it's pebbles in meadows and sneezing in your kitchen that'll get you, not hard running! :-) G
