JD looks nails, can't wait to get going on it actually. It's going to take some faith though with so few long runs in there.

I see there's an old (JDA-initiated) thread out there. I might try and rekindle it.

JD is one of my options for next year. Not decided fully yet.

Yebbut don't forget there are a range of JD plans - I'm staying on the soft(er) option again though I am intending to take it more seriously this time round, will try to do both main workouts a bit more consistently than I managed before. At last the first run (18 weeks) is due tomorrow, supposed to be a steady 2h though I might stretch it a little further. After 2 hard days cycling I'll not be joining the local fast group even though they're meeting right close by our apartment. Hope to avoid getting trampled in the stampede!

I just saw this advertised and wondered if any of you guys following JD's plans will be interested in a day long seminar by him in Birmingham at the end of January? therunningcurve.com but at ~£125 (tbc) it's not cheap!

Hello you likely lot. Could you kindly put me on the sidebar for April 2 - Maratona di Roma - please. Thank you! 3:03 attempt or thereabouts. That'll commit me.

3:28/9 at Florence, fairly controlled run apart from the start where I went off like a headless chicken and almost caught the 3:15 pacers.
Florence is a nice run, flat apart from a few bridges (the one at 21M IS uncalled for) definitely PB able and well worth the trip.

Well done Joe - back to your ultra days and run it twice and looks like even pacing over the 2 ;-)

Falkirk parkrun for me Saturday past - a total shock to the system. Pretty slow effort for blowin oot ma bum but a marker of where i am currently.

Morning all.

Well run in Florence Joe. Enjoyable weekend too? Or just airport-hotel-marathon-airport?

Luna's back! :-)

A 6-day 40+ mile training week for me, which is the first in quite a while of both of those things. Even if every run is terrible, it'll get better soon. 10m at 75% MHR coming in at 9:30m/m yesterday wasn't much fun... Cheered up by seeing BS run past a couple of times on his way to another low-key marathon.

Finally edging into the 40+ zone for me too Paul. I was training for a 10k tester, all going really well, then had a first ever race cancellation thanks to Storm Angus and 60mph winds, bleargh. Anyway, if I can hold the PF at bay, I'm looking forward to retaining my place on this honourable forum next year!
Florence - you lucky thing Joe!
