Sounds like a great 2 weeks idle! What was the half like in Reykjavik? Nice route?

A return to intervals for me tonight and quite happy with 3:44, 3:45, 3:43, 3:41 and 3:42 for thec 1k reps which is only about 7 seconds down on the fastest set I have done, although I did find it pretty tough.

Fine set of reps there Bazo. That's 6 m/m pace and well set for a 5k pb I'd say.

30s on (at roughly mile pace), 30s off for 20 minutes in total last night. Nice session and good to try something different speed wise.

Just completed 11 miles with 7 @ LT pace in 46:59. There was a strong wind blowing on the route I use and took me until mile 3 to adjust to it. I was fully warmed up after a hectic day at work and a 2 mile warm up to get there so it was a surprise it took me so long to find my pace. I'm getting old!

7:01, 6:49, 6:41, 6:38, 6:38, 6:34 and 6:38. I felt better in the latter miles as well. I'm definitely in sub 1:30 HM shape for next weekend in Chippenham. :)

Postie, is that tempo run what P&d prescribe? My copy is on order so will find out soon what I have left myself in for.

LT pace is somewhere in between what you'd normally run for a HM to 15k race so it would vary for every runner. The splits you see in my previous post is what I'd run at for a HM (miles 3 to 7)

Trying to crank up this mileage! Done 40 miles in the last 6 days (which is loads for me!)

Includes Interval session @ Club Monday, Easy 4 miles on Tuesday.

Nice 12 tonight @ 7:10 felt good, strange as the 10 on Saturday which I done first thing in the morning at a slower pace felt a struggle!

Gentle 4-5 miles for me tomorrow, day off Friday. Finding the time is the battle!!

Some nice intervals and tempo runs being knocked out. Great time of year to run, weather is nice, enjoy it before the Autumn starts!

I'm back to easy running again after Reyjkavik. Daz - it's a really nice race, I definitely recommend it. Reykjavik is gorgeous, and a lot of the run follows the shoreline, looking across to the mountains across the bay. The locals love it too, come out of their houses banging pots & pans, and setting up impromptu music around the course. And it takes place on the day of Reyjkavik's annual culture festival, so everyone is on the streets later on, lots of live music, food, drink and fun.
