Thanks all

Postieboy - I did manage to get round my first mara back in May in 3:10 on fairly low mileage, just want to see what else I can do with cranking it up a touch. Well done on your win.

Curly - Helpful. I think I will try and do initially an extra 2 mornings of 5 miles'ish and build from there

Baz- At least you are getting back there and being able to run

Do you do any other training but running Daz? Your race times are mightily impressive for the miles you put in.

No!

I took up running all but two years ago (Sept 13) after coming back from my summer holiday and tipping the scales over 15st! Joined a club and the rest is history!

Cracking park runs on here. Take the advice on board Daz :-)

Ran a very easy parkrun today as a recovery run and really enjoyed it :-)

Stur Half tomorrow which is a full on 100% PB attempt 😎😡

Daz, I thought I was low mileage....yes you need more miles. Though I'm going to be a touch hypocrytical and claim that I would not go much faster however many more miles I do (but I was around 45mpw or so in full training, plus some cycling). But you are pretty fast on so little training, you must have the potential for some significant improvement if you take it more seriously. Try running to work and back if you are short on time.

If the Olympian is the same one I'm thinking of then she did Falkirk parkrun last week and finished fourth or fifth.

Thanks Hunts and JDA - The running to work may be a struggle as I work all over the place! I am fairly happy to get up a touch earlier and go and do 4-5 miles. Lets see what that brings!

Nice parkruns :)G,bazo and nice win postie...
I also was first over the line at Perth parkrun today in 18.24.. In around 6th or 7th @2k then found myself leading at 2.5k when the course hit the grass. Not the quickest time for what is a flat course but very comfortable effort in which i really needed someone over the last 2k to push me out of my comfort zone. There was one guy who led until halfway who seemed to be pacing his mate so reckon he was quite a bit quicker and sandbagged the 2nd half to stay with him.
I'm guessing it's Freya Ross you talk of at parkrun as i also saw her at Falkirk last week.

I ran parkrun at Perth also - 3rd chick in 20.25 - legs feeling last nights 10 miles. Surprised I wasn't slower!

I'm not running Abingdon anymore - anyone looking for a place?

Stoosh:

Congrats for the win at Perth. Yeah, it was Freya Ross I was thinking of.
