Well done on all the pb's.

WW of course it makes sense to keep the faster colour for races. I've had good runs in my Glide boosts and ran in the Energy boosts yesterday (neither being fast coloured), not sure what to go with for the hm in 2 weeks time.

Bazo - are you doing the Tom Scott 10miler on April 5th? You'll take more off your PB there - well done!

Well done Curly on the half PB - cracking time.

Lou - sounds like a tough 20m - great run in today's condition.

Went out with 3 of the faster guys this mornin g- their more comfortable conversational pace is my target MP pace so thought I'd give it a go. shockingly windy in parts but relatively flat (or very flat for round here) with only 400ft of climbing. Managed 16m @ 7:22 average so happy with that as more or less MP and I wont be running along chatting in the race! :) although I did have to stop chatting in final 2m :) Had planned 18m but hamstring felt tight at 16m and they were ramping it up for last two (7/sub 7 pace for last 2) so called it a day at 16m. Beating myself up a bit about not doing the last 2m but I have to remember it was only meant to be a training run and other than the Chester Metric marathon ave never done 16m at that pace before. Annoyingly hamstring feels perfectly OK now and I don't feel too tired at all.

My lovely pin Boston Boost are looking very grubby after today's run - lots of mud and puddles on the cycleway this morning - alomost blown backwards in some sections.

BS - I dont know how you churn those out so often, but you do - respect.

Great LRs from WW, Chris, Lou, Gus, RFJ, JOvi - hope I didnt miss anyone

WW re racing weight, back in the autumn I really struggled to lose weight and raced Chester about 4-6lbs heavier than I normally race a mararthon. Historically the weight has just dropped off as the miles ramped up. This time however as soon as I gave up alcohol and eating rubbish in early Jan,the weight has gone already and I am at racing weight right now. I am having to eat a bit rubbish to ensure I dont lose more !

Joe,sensible call, there are plenty more coming up...

Well done on the PB Huntsman......you didnt say what it was though - just sub 70 ?

Lou, I wasnt planning on doing Tom Scott, I have the Dunbar 10k the day before....but I know on a flat course there is plenty more time to be found over 10 miles.

Great 3:15 BS. So casual sounding for you!

WW storming long run.and week. I never subscribe to faster coloured shoes as women's are usually only available in crap pink (the mud fixes that pretty sharpish ;)).

Hunts fab 10 mile pb and Bazo amazing stuff.

Great long run Lou (just getting in the bath shortly hope I can get out!).

Chris that is some good running. Cornish hills are horrible steep beggars aren't they, I was wondering if.your HR to perceived effort ratio might be out because you haven't run at that effort much yet? Might just need a few weeks to get back in line? Just a thought.

Sorry to hear about the no show Joe, but sounds like rest is the order of the day.

Gus and RFJ you make me feel super slow! Great long training going on, I love the fact you slow down to my usual pace RJF ;)

Jovi wow that's some nice running too. To be chatting at mp for 16 miles is great going. Comfortable!

20.7 for me, nice and slow for.you lot 8:50 mins/mile. Almost (need to tot up later so not sure of exacts) 80 for the week. Peak mileage should be in two weeks time, but wont be much higher I suspect. Feel like I'm going well and then see all the amazing training going on and its quite scary as well as inspiring!

Curly - dont be so hard on yourself, 8:50 is MP + 1:30 and is good pace for a LSR (my ave was 8:38 today) you are in a good place, dont forget you are in training mode for a race not in the race.

Baz - awesome PB, well done and know you will be happy with that

BS - you are a machine, well done

Lou, Gus, WW, Chris and Jovi good long runs

Nice one Huntsman.....

Curly, thats a good LSR on the back of a big week....they dont all have to be fast or have fast sections.

Good to see Mr HappyG at the end as well....was thinking on the way home, your time was similar to mine at Lasswade last year anbd I went on to do 3:10 at VLM. OK it wasnt the week after, but I think with smart pacing you will be renewing GFA next weekend

Baz - great pb. More importantly though, you ran a 5:5x mile in a 10 mile race 😏

Hunts - well done too, I am guessing it was windy down there on the south coast too. Good progress. Are you running an autumn marathon?

Some really good LRs in tough conditions too. I thought I'd gone pretty quick until I saw Jovi and Lou's efforts, great running. Curly, RFJ - pace isn't always what matters when you are putting pace in elsewhere in your training. Chris, Gus - also very promising.

Chris, I think 88% is ok later in a race. You might get a few beats back from the taper so I don't reckon you are too far away with those paces.

And finally, BS: choose trainers that have most orange or yellow on them. They are the fastest, clearly.
