In English that would translate to ah donran ;-)

I did wonder when you'd stop lurking.... I could tell you of my 12wk plans for marathons but I don't understand them myself. As well as this thread, feel free to ask questions at will at training.. There's a few experienced marathoners going about.

Stoosh:

Haven't had time to keep up with the forum lately. Read a few of your posts earlier and the penny dropped that takeaways are the key ingredient.

Will ask next time I see you.

But current pace progresses as the cycle moves forward, I would argue that running at an interval pace that equates to a target race time potentially leaves you training below where you could be if you ran as hard as you currently can.

I was always told that intervals should be run at a set pace, not faster, not slower, and it shouldn't be on the limit (edge of your ability).

Donran, Ive dropped from the 18 week to 12 week P&D plan and its just as effective I find

I somestimes may make it 14 weeks by repeating weeks 1 and 2 before its starts.

Scottish Half admitted today they were 292.8m long. I have calculated therefore that my time should have been c 1:23:50. Shame I cannot claim the PB as that would have been some set for the 2nd half of 2014

That's really shit, Baz (race organisers can't not getting the right distance). Commiserations :(

I have technically PBd at all major distances this year:

5k - actual fastest was on a short course
5m - actual fastest was on a short course
10k - real PB
10m - went through 10miles in the scottish half well under my PB, even by the long 10m marker
Half - but it was a long course
Mara - real PB

Excellent Baz and bad luck that there were so many screw ups on course measurements!

Interesting that the Scottish Half screw up seems to have been made by the course measurers (AIMS accredited measurer) rather than just some cone mis-placement on the day. Little that race organisers can do about that if the "pros" get it wrong.
