Keefy Beefy
Any one trying for sub 3:30 next year. I am in Paris. I need to beat my PB by 10 mins. I think it will be quite hard for me but worth a go.

Slow Going
(lurks) - this would require a 37 minute improvement, but it would also put my marathon time somewhere near where all my other race times predict it should be.

OI! How am I supposed to run without my thunder, you naughty Bee?

I'm aiming for sub-3.30 at London next year - have a guaranteed place after five ballot rejections. It will mean knocking almost a minute per mile off my current marathon PB, but isn't beyond the bounds of plausibility according to the predictions derived from my recent half-marathon and 10k times. Bit like you, SG!

I'm on a steep improvement curve at the moment and my priority is to increase my total mileage gradually from 40-50mpw at present to 70mpw and do plenty of long runs after the turn of the year. I shall do very little speedwork, and very few races.

The v'rap basic speed is more than capable of the 3:30 Gobi - but she doen't have the endurance to sustain it for the distance yet!!!!

Or ... because I have run a fairly hilly half-marathon at 7.46mm pace but at Abingdon my lack of long training runs (because an autumn marathon was a bit of an afterthought) found me out after 20 miles, Gobi :o)

I won't do NO speedwork - there is a little in the schedules I'm planning to follow, and I'm aiming for a sub-1.40 half in January.

Really, Gobi?

Like, NOT base-training?

I'm always open to advice, especially advice to run fewer miles but run them faster :)

^-^
