#74 done yesterday at Mablethorpe after wangling a last-minute entry. Splits of 1:55 and 2:40! To be fair, I only wanted the 1:55 first half, so I'm not too unhappy. York next weekend should see me 3/4 of the way there... |

Well done DeeGee. Job done as they say. Number 117 for me today at the 9Bar ultra fest. Had planned to do 6 laps ( 54k) but decided after just one hilly lap that maybe marathon distance would be enough . Only just getting back inti the swing of things so don't want to push my luck. Every lap brought with it a new pain. First my hip then my calf followed by my ankle. Luckily I can't multi task pain so as each new one arrived I had to drop the last one. Got loads of nine bars , a bag , smashing medal and T-shirt. Well made up. |

I entered the 81km thinking I would not do 81km but 7 or 8 laps (as I want to train next week -50 miles longer to recover from). I downgraded to 6 laps fairly early on as it was way harder than expected

It did seem a lot harder than expected to me too! I manged the 6 laps I entered, leaving for the last lap knowing I had already done a marathon and some was a good mental test

I believe Blackbird Leys actually won the "marathon" distance at the 9Bar Ultra and is being very modest above by not mentioning it!!!

TZ - Hello mate. I'm not being modest. I think there may have been a mistake as I started a bit later than the others. I have sent an email to Neil. As much as I'd like to claim it I can't. |

The rules it said that you can drop down on the day and get the medal for the distance you did but not be eligible for prizes I know this as I looked into dropping down before I entered! I wasn't sure what the course would be like so decided to enter the 81km as that kept my options open to basically do what I wanted! |
