Hi Toffee, was it you who I met on the course?

Leggy, after a little rest I went to Bierkeller with mrs monsenb1 and DeeGee joined later..mulbs was off to lunch before either of us finished the race, and not sure what Hipps did afterwards..

I had tough old race, 1.57 first half 2.02 second half..just got in under 4..quite happy considering the lack of decent training since London.

Hello monsenb1, yes I had a little chat with you, took me a while to catch you up like :-)
Well done, never ever be unhappy with a race time, the fact you even ran is enough.

I just waddled off to my car and got back to the kids, great event though, can recommend it for those looking to do a half/Marathon next year.

Jono.
You got a decent time in toffee at the Liverpool marathon - did you pick up the training?

Jono, putting it down to a few things, eating better, laying off the alcohol was a major factor, hydration and setting off at a sensible speed. I struggle with training due to my shifts, family stuff but managed some decent runs along the Mersey in the few weeks I had to get ready.
I think being in a better place than I was a few years ago played a significant part, I approached it with a lot more sense and understood what I had to do, but also what I ought not to do.

Jono, your blogs were really good. I loved the style, that form of writing brings the reader into the world of the person who lived it, they are personal memories laid bare which makes us readers feel like we're experiencing the day to day tasks and duties you had to do yourself. They are a wonderful, factual, terrifying, saddening, informative account of your time in the Falklands.

Your family must be very proud of you. I know I am.
