Anyone seen the run for 96 5k, at 22 quid its a bit pricey, but if they guarantee most of the money will go to the Hillsborough Family Support Group/Justice Campaign..I'd sign up for it in a flash..

It doesn't say how much of the entrance fee goes to the families - I suspect very little only because Liverpool City Council will be insisting any event like this must be self funding.

but the email I got said this :-

'Participants are invited to support and fundraise on their behalf.'

Yeh I saw that too bigleggy..they organise the port sunlight 5k for 19 pounds, 3 pounds cheaper, but I suppose Liverpool Council take more money..

19th April..
While the "run also has the support of the Hillsborough Family Support Group"...the event’s two official charities, are the Liverpool FC Foundation and Everton in the Community. I'm sure they do good work..but I think I'll be passing on this one..

Yep - it's a bit rich for me - I'd rather just give the Hillsborough charity £20 and do a parkrun or summat

Leggy speaks sense, there's far too much of this headline grabbing causes and very little money going to the charity concerned - my bug bear is fancy poppies - one for just over £100, £5.00 going to RBL!

I bought a metal poppy about 3 years ago -- Recycle it every year and just put the money in the box. RBL don't even have to give me a paper poppy :-)
