Nayan - I can recommend Wokingham (Feb) and the Surrey HM (Mar), I would say both courses are faster than Reading, I've run them all many times. Those courses out of Hampton Court are also really, totally, completely flat if that's your thing. I ran one of them this year on the same day as Reading which meant the field wasn't strong at all and finished 20th or something daft.

Fleet is another option but I'm not a particular fan of the course.

Although I have no experience of other starts at London, green does seem a little tight on space for loos and so on. Saying that, I managed to sneak out with about 30 minutes to go for a quick warm-up jog and a nature wee ;-)

Both did wonders to settle my nerves and this year I didn't feel any twinges off the start going zero-to-race-pace in 5 seconds.

Sounds pretty horrendous compared to the Manchester experience of leaving the hotel around 30 mins before the start, strolling down to the start with a few seconds of jogging and a pee in the plentiful bushes. Then hopping into the pen 10 rows from the front with about 5 mins to go.

I think we've learned a lesson on how to fill out out GFA forms in June. Put down a sub 3 predicted time to get a place in the FGFA pen

Our powers of recovery at the level we run at Chris are pretty quick compared to most. I ran my local parkrun course PB a week after London last year. Makes me quite excited for the 5k and 10k's I have coming up in the next couple of weeks. :)

just shows your quality Chris and that Sunday was just a long training run for you. Nice work.

I jogged this evening and I certainly couldn't have run a sub 20 5k!!

OMG Chris - that brilliant. I havent run yet, but might tomorrow

I put down 2:59 this year and was on Green....I am too honest. Maybe go for 2:55 and see if I get back on FGFA, although that said green isnt too bad. Yes it seemed busier this year with ,long toilet Qs. However, get there early and being a male means its OK cos the urinal Q moves quickly so was OK as far as I am concerned.

I'd say a pb in 4 days means you didn't race hard enough. At least I had the decency to wait for 6 days for mine :-)
