That's a good enough reason to aim for the low 2:50's, get to run in some clear space!

My Tom Tom read 25.52 miles which is testament to how much I had to weave in and out of slower runners from start to finish.

I think it's probably more testament to what very tall buildings and tunnels do to a GPS signal. Have a look at your trace in detail (I can't on this crappy browser at work). It will be *far* off the course around Canary Wharf, and both tunnels.

I thought it was really busy also, had to have a word with one chap who kept weaving left and right causing a number of us to have to stop/move. Must speed up!

Garmin had it had 26.5 for me.

Since I wasn't manual lapping, my watch was beeping for every mile further and further away from the official mile markers every time so it was a gradual process. As I've mentioned elsewhere, Tom Tom's GPS is superior to Garmin (Garmin's are the better watch though) so it's pretty good through the difficult areas as well.

Just had a closer look at my gps trace...looks like I went over the water instead of the bridge at canary wharf.

Quite happy to run over 27 miles though with a best mile of 59 seconds!

Postie, you manual lapped on a TomTom, is that the multifunction device? I have one and too scared to touch the square button in fear of stopping everything and the lap part on the touch screen never worked when sweaty.

My autolap was pretty much bang on each mile marker till later in the race after Canary Wharf and teh tunnel.

They'd have to be bloody good to not go a bit awry in a tunnel.

I got 26.53m.

I auto lap UTRB, it's too dangerous to manual lap with the square button!

My splits were a bit weird on my garmin showing a 6:10 mile near the end after the tunnel, but then in strava when selecting that it was the London Marathon race, the splits seem to have been smoothed out somehow, not that I've been too fussed to check why.
