Westley, heat is so tough, the good thing is that you learn to manage it and to drink right and such I guess!?

jdarun - very inspiring to see how great you are on the longer distances without being superhuman on the shorter ones like most of the others are who manage to get below 3. What I wouldn't give to have your endurance, seems your curve only gets stronger the longer you go! Makes me want to work hard on the distance side myself, thanks for sharing.

57.5, very impressive consistency and a lot of things to consider for me. Don't ride at all I'm afraid, but spinning would be possible I guess. The problem would be time I think. Have to ponder that one. Very impressive times on the half and full for a late starter, super stoked to see that!

I think you are 100% right I can learn a lot in here, I find myself just reading and reading and trying to build some experience that way. So many great contributors here, so much knowledge and such a cool atmosphere. A gold mine for a newbie like myself!

Amazing running Chris! Sounds like you should cruise to a sub 3 next time around.

Westley
Gopace, with heat the most important thing is to accept it and slow...way down. I train by HR so make sure I stick to the zones. This will mean walking for parts of recovery runs.

Chris, still a great time. Sounds like a tough day.

Just a quick copy and paste from 2.45 thread - good luck to anyone racing this weekend or next;

Just dropping in to say good luck to all racing this weekend and next maybe see a few of you in either Frankfurt or New York? Pacing clients on 3 hour pace now to 18 miles in Frankfurt and then again next week in NYC (but will probably jog and finish there). Gutted to not be racing and to have lost so much shape since August (and put on nearly a stone! ;-) Here's to some great performances.
