Scunnered! Went to Spain for a long weekend and the minute I got back got hit by a vicious virus which required a hospital visit. Only this evening have I been able to eat and start to feel a bit normal (unless I stand up or try to walk). Think it'll be a few more days before I'm running. On the upside - I've lost 9 lbs in 3 days

A shame to hear of so many health problems of various types. I'm feeling particularly smug today, having got up a bit earlier than usual this morning for my long run (2h45 including 8 x 6 min threshold intervals, pretty brutal for me) and getting back home just as the rain started... Training still going super-well here (though maybe I'm not quite at the speed I hoped to be), must be due a problem of some sort but so far my plan of ~30% cycling seems to be paying off at least in terms of giving my feet and joints a rest. Of course I might just be under-trained and slow! 5 weeks to go, feels like I'm just heading on to the downhill stretch of the JD plan. |

Sorry to hear that Daviec. Perhaps an enforced rest will do your legs some good, or at least give them a rest. Well done missing the rain jd, I was too lazy so got absolutely soaked yesterday but managed 21 miles at 7.30 pace and it felt comfortable which makes a change. |
