I had "8k fast" down and so it was. I didn't feel great but I've been traveling and not eating much the last couple of days. 7 days til Edinburgh!

I did the first Clanfield Challenge 12k today which was tough. Mixed terrain and several hills. The first 5k was pretty much all uphill for around 200m. A nice downhill did follow. Prior to this my 7yr old had his first race which I did with him for a warm up - 1k. An enjoyable day.

Out at 9pm, with only electric orange linings to the westerly clouds to remind me of the day gone. Freight & human cargo moved relentlessly in & out of Liverpool; paths, beach & over Burbo Bank, turning at the stricken coastguard station and taking the trails back down the Bank. Almost dark now, and the lights at the leisure centre pointed my way down the prom, over the fields and home. Just short of 10k. Grand. :)

Lovely gentle five mile run with a friend. Lots of bird song, growing bean field, a few too many little flies but perfect temperature.

I got my pb at Edinburgh marathon yesterday. Today I'll be lucky if I can walk down the stairs, let alone get that washing in before it rains. Results: a few blisters, a painfully bruised toe, major doms, mild sunburn and a nice feeling of achievement.
