Its my first one, I was nervous earlier in week and last week, but as race day looms ever closer I'm actually more relaxed now. I think its the fact that I wont be 'racing' it and running a lot slower than marathon pace that makes me feel better. Perhaps at 50k I'll be saying something else but I'm determined to finish it.

Quick straw pole - out of the Lakeland 50 and Highland Fling, which is the quicker course? Or is it a horses for courses type of thing?

The Fling is loads quicker, for a plodder like me, the difference is between one and two hours.

For me the Fling is definitely a quicker course than the Lakeland 50.
