I didn't actually sleep - just lay down on my camp bed. I also took the time to eat I the extended break to reduce chance of stomach issues. 8 find after a break in can resume a faster pace than if I carried on at a slower pace my legs seem to a he more when running more slowly. I'm pretty sure I can do 100m in sub 24 but goal at equinox was to enjoy my first solo 24 hour event. Next time I might push myself more

If it's anything like last year, half of them won't turn up, and there'll still be no food.

Given the reports from last year I'll be carrying enough supplies to get me round without having to rely on the check points (although granted I'm only doing the 55 - bit harder if you're on the 110K)

Does anyone else doing the ULT think that the "emergency drink" of 100ml of water is a bit odd? It is the Lake District after all so you're rarely more than a few hundred metres from some source of water...

It is exceptionally weird, and caused me a fair bit of grief in locating a container to carry it in. I ended up buying these: amazon.co.uk Can't remember if they checked it at the kit check. |

I've some 100ml bottles that I bought in Boots for when I'm flying so I'll just fill one of those and stick it at the bottom of my bag. Or take the empty bottle and fill it from a stream just before the finish... |

I am also making sure I'm self sufficient water / food wise , I marshalled last year so can confirm first hand there wasn't enought food or water at any of the check points Marshalls had to go into grasmere village to try and buy more food with their own money
