It seems it's over. Things move too fast to follow with any sense though.

Hello just a thought that I've been wondering.

Is there any ratio in a minimum marathon time if you hope to complete a 100 miler? sort of you should be fit enough to run a 4 hr marathon to be able to finish a 100 miler in say a 36 hr cut off ?

Don't know about any ratios but I ran 100 miles in 22:15 and my marathon pb is 3:56.

Are you thinking of going for it superflyguy? I recommend it

It fascinates me when I follow races watch starts on various social media spend the weekend doing stuff go to bed get up do more on a Sunday morning. Then check on a race to see people still out there realising all that time while I've done shopping, cut grass been out for dinner etc they're still running .
The mental and physical capability must be immense

Lol you just keep on running. My physical capability is not immense! I just like running and I'm a determined wifie.

I think it's very heard to generalise sfg. The differences in times across races very enormously. For the like of the canal races, SDW and WHW (nearly 100 ;-)) etc sub 24 would be seen as a time that is very obtainable whereas for, say, Lakeland it will put you up there with the top finishers.
