A sensible pace for my ability would unfortunately mean I'd take 3 days to do Comrades, and they only give you 12 hours.

Hope all you Comraders enjoy the event (way beyond me!). Enjoyed the Ben Smith interview , I'm sure the Angela Mudge one will be something special too.

Belated thanks to toks and RIC for feedback on soft flasks. I will get both sizes and see.

Floppiness isn't acceptable, is it ?

redpanda...just tried out the soft flasks in my new vest and they are so much better than hard bottles. No sloshing sound either!

It only needs a 5 hour marathon to qualify for Comrades but South African marathons tend to be very hilly, so a sub 5 on a cool day at e.g. Abingdon isn't comparable. As a race it's a great experience, indeed the whole time out there tends to be brilliant, but the cutoffs can be cruel.

Totally agree, becca7, really enjoyed it, fabulous experience, and wasn't actually too disappointed in not reaching the finish.
