I love a cup of tea during races, I had tea every loop of Glenmore 24 I think.

I have given up alcohol but not for reasons to do with running. I shall report back if my running improves. I have started doing turbo sessions which replace one of my running sessions so that might make a difference too, not sure if for the best or not. I'm doing the turbo to toughen certain parts for long distance cycling. What a faff though!

it'll be good mental training if nothing else. You'll be able to go and do one of those 24 hour track race things. Whether that's a good thing...

I've never thought about doing 24 hours on the track flanker, I get bored doing a mile on the track! Glenmore is a sensible 4 mile loop and varied enough not to be boring.

Turbo can be a bit boring but it only lasts 70 mins and I let my mind wander

Glenmore looks a fantastic race, as long as you run fast enough to avoid the midgies!

I don't remember midges at Glenmore. I think the hailstones frightened them away.

The midges at the halfway point were evil if it stopped raining and the sun came out, or early evening. I've learnt not to go up there without a midge net in my pocket. Oddly enough I can't remember them much down in the Hayfield.
