Basically pick a route that nobody else has done and claim FKT for yourself.

I hold the one from the bed to the toilet (the night after 10 pints and a vindaloo). Maybe.

Or if someone already has your record then use some unique thing about yourself.

Like me being the first person from Leicester to run the spartathlon in a white t shirt.

What, you've done it in a white shirt already? That's another target off my list.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
Running an FKT on a defined route or with defined points to visit (like the classic 'Rounds') sounds eminently sensible when stacked up against some of the odder events in the Ultra world. Running round the block in NYC for 3000 miles? A 'race' without a defined finish line? Running up and down a rather nondescript hill?

Dvorak
Have any of you looked at sportsshoes.com recently? The front page picture (which also follows you about in a sidebar :-o) depicts what I presume to be an ultra runner (ultra trail runner even); but who has a look which I would describe as "demented tramp". Is this an accurate representation of you all ;-) ?

Scraggly beard, untidy hair and a befuddled look... Errr, no not at all. :-)
Though I have to say my "demented tramp" is down to a lack of interest in grooming, as opposed to that styled to within an inch of his life look :-p
