£40 - are they good? 8.7oz is 250g so about mid weight? Quite thick cushioning. Are they nice and soft? How is toe box? Reasonably generous? And toe and sole protection? Rock-kicking ok? :-) G

How about the width fitting? For 40 quid they seem worth a go!

Sizes generous, toe box big, I don't kick rocks so not sure

Sole wear for me has been good, 650 miles mostly road and still lookng quite good
They are light for the size / cushioning if that makes sense

I'd suggest trying a pair on first if you can. I tried a pair on at the expo and they were probably the least comfortable shoes I've ever tried (I've tried others in their range and they are OK). The insole felt overly shaped in the arch and there was no feel of the ground at all. Bit like the inov-8 290s but with less grip.

I got a pair yesterday and ran in them today. They were more flexible than I thought they would be and really, really comfortable. They were grippy enough for running on the grass, but they wouldn't work for a muddy XC. I found the heel/back a bit high.
