Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

You can buy short 'leads' that attach the harness to the collar so that the harness is used but if the dog slips out you will still have the dog attached.

I'm just here to say that in the first weeks I had very bad days where I thought I couldn't handle it and had thoughts about maybe I should just give him up (and I'm not on my own, so I had only 50% of the tough times!)- it gets better. promise. big hugs.

Absolutely - It's a long time (14 years) since I had a whippet puppy and you have just reminded me that even I was wary of him when he was a bitey pup! Whippets have long big mouths full of sharp teeth. Kipps used to remind me of the monster in the Alien movies! It does get better - much better! Hang in there!!!

It’s always good to hear I’m not alone. I’ve come across some puppy owners at work who just don’t seem to have many issues (or at least own up to them) which makes me feel like a rubbish puppy owner sometimes.

He’s 16 weeks at the weekend so I’ve almost survived 8 weeks!
He’s doing well on the toilet training though which is at least one thing.

I would be a whole lot happier if I could crack the housetraining that's for sure. Then the nipping/biting. Then the cat. By which time am sure a whole new set of challenges will have emerged.

Does anyone have experience of conjunctivitis in dogs?

I think Skye had it in both eyes...they're very red and have been occasionally a little gunky.

Arlo had it. Trip to the vets, antibiotic eye drops for 2 weeks.

Was a nightmare. Eye drops are awful. His eyes are gunky still and we are like 2/3 months in. Had had different drops since but they are still irritated.
