Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

That's good Helegant, but at least this man must know his behaviour has been seen and *maybe* he'll behave better from now on (no, I'm not hopeful about that either.:-()

I'm feeling sorry for Flossie that we are going back to Cheltenham tomorrow, and won't be back at the seaside for at least four weeks now. It is remarkable how much more animated she is on our beach walks. She *adores* running along in the shallows, coming out, running back in, fetching sticks (as long as they don't float out of her depth ;-)), just everything about it. Even her walks with her absolute best friend Lily don't see her so excited. Rivers and streams are good, but she's a salty sea-dog for sure :-)

Aw that's lovely, LD. Jess is insane about the beach, I wonder if most dogs REALLY like it.

Wanda loves the beach. We have to be careful in Sheringham as it can get quite crowded and not everyone welcomes a Staffy X in the height of full enjoyment of their environment (!) but the vast expanse of beach at Holkham out of season is her favourite.

We have also just booked a stay at Camber Sands out of season which I hope is going to be similar and I hope even more there may be a relatively local 'guide' to the best beaches there for dogs???

We will most definitely join you at Camber - it is brilliant for dogs and for people!

So what would you do with a 9 month old puppy who insists on barking at anyone (family /friends) who comes into the house and isn't part of the family unit, and won't give it up...barking for hours on end?

Does he bark at them if they are in the garden? I'd ask a friend to help out. Get them to come round and start from where the dog is happy for them to be and reward highly, then gradually move them closer to the house (on the pavement, driveway, garden, doorstep, inside front door). Loads of rewards for calm behaviour. Do you use settle at all?
