Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Just going through all my photos from my trip to Botswana and Namibia. Nice to see birds that you wouldn't see in the UK like the african jacana, giant kingfisher and various bee eaters, but I also enjoyed seeing a few familiar ones in better light such as the grey heron and common sandpiper.

Here's a very confiding jacana:

What a beautiful photo. :)

I saw a beautiful bullfinch outside my window this morning, saw it a couple of weeks ago also, probably with his mate then but she didn't seem to be around today.

Not yet. Didn't see any here last year, I don't know how prevalent they are hereabouts.

Lots of the moorland usuals on today's run. Stonechats into double figures, plenty of skylarks, the most mipits I've seen for ages, crows, the odd grouse and a few curlew flybys. Heard a raven but couldn't get eyes-on. It almost felt like spring :-)
