Glad your Achilles is cooperating @riggys99 and hope the other Achilles sufferers are seeing good progress. I'm focusing on track racing for the next few months before half marathons in the late summer/early autumns, then Valencia again. It's got off to a bit of a bumpy start, sprained my right ankle on the very first run back after London . Managed to keep running but even though the ankle is recovering I have been struggling with low iron kinda feelings and just not really enjoying running which has been frustrating as after London I was so keen to get cracking. Did good in my 1 mile track race yesterday so hopefully I'll be able to sort it out and run some good 5ks in July. I think I really have to get my shorter distances faster or my goals for Valencia will be unrealistic. |

I've now signed up for Chelmsford in October (not to be confused with Cheltenham, which I keep calling it by mistake!) - I'm going to give the Hansons Marathon Method a shot this time around and have just written a blog about my initial thoughts going into Week 1 of training. I'm still not 100% sure what goal time to aim for, and am fluctuating between getting round in a modest time that sets me up for sub-3:30 in the spring, or trying for something a bit faster - the coming weeks should give me a better idea, but I'm feeling fairly positive after a well-paced half on the weekend.

Nice one FC. I did Chelmsford a few years ago and enjoyed it. I just about scraped a sub-3:30 there that day as well - I was the last one under 3:30, from memory.

Cheers Big_G - good to know you made it in sub-3:30! I've read that it has a bit more elevation than the Half route, though it doesn't seem too high, unless there are lots of steep little climbs I'm not yet aware of.

From memory, itβs not pancake flat, but definitely not hilly. I do remember the small 3:30 bus whizzing past me quite quickly early on, but in the latter stages the bus was very empty indeed as many had presumably got cooked with the pace that was too fast. I do remember commenting at the time that if it is bad conditions, some of the course in the country lanes is quite exposed, so that could be an issue. |

Cheers Mark! And thanks again Big_G - I think the elevation isn't quite so high as Stevenage last year, where it rained the whole time, though it sounds like weather could also be a major decider here too, which I'll certainly bear in mind! |
