So disappointing, WW, and I hope you're able to pull something positive out of it as you process the news and start looking forward. I also hope there will be someone who can offer personal experience of managing a similar problem; it's quite unlike having osteoarthritis of any other lower limb joint.

Commiserations. That’s a painful blog to have to write.
I’m currently on the injury bench too. I’ve been here almost a month already which is my longest enforced lay-off in 20 years - by about 3 weeks! Not much progress either so I’m struggling not to catastrophise.
Saw a physio who worked wonders on the first visit - I was able to walk immediately afterwards but since then it’s not really shifted. That was 2 and a half weeks & 2 sessions ago.

Running is the reason for getting out the door, socialising & producing the happy brain chemicals necessary for managing the other life stress.

Being here in this situation is hard.
Well done for sharing & good luck finding a way out of the slough of despond.
