TRO Saracen
Hello!
24 hours after a 3:28 at the Leicester marathon, still in a world of pain and I am ready to de-lurk and start plotting the next milestone - has to be a 3:15 (which would give me GFA for LOndon).
So I will join this happy band, if that;s ok!

Welcome TRO.
I got one step closer at Leicester with a 3:17, 4 minutes off my previous PB. I think I can do it now, probably in Paris next April.

That's a great run BR. Not an easy course and I think on a flat track you would have got it. I reckon I was at least 5 minutes down on what I could have done as I was neither mentally or physically prepared for the hills - like many I assumed the course would be much flatter (BIG learning point to know the profile of the course next time).
I have my eye on Bungay (April 6th) as my first attempt at getting near 3:15.

The profile on the website didn't look too bad TRO - about 250m of climbing but those with Garmins said it was nearer to 500m. I was fine until about 23 miles when I slowed up a lot, although running at 8 minute miles I still passed about 5-6 people.
I was 3 minutes ahead of 3:15 pace at 17 miles and 1 1/2 ahead at 22. Then I think the tiredness took hold.

I did the Brussels Half but didn't see Woffy. It was pretty crowded at the end so I didn't hang around too long.

Cheers JB. It wasn't hilly compared to Snowdonia, but the hillyest I've done yet. How are you set for 2 weeks time?

OK I think BR - a bit of a pain re having to pick up race packs (postal dispute!), but, I think, I have done as much as I can - really looking forward to it! Hope your legs are OK BR - did you drive home after the event? (one thing I'm not looking forward to!)
