I no longer care about the work stresses. They are what they are and if it comes to it I know I could walk and get by albeit it would be tough. Maslows hierarchy of needs I guess.
I do the best I can but right now it’s with both hands tied behind my back and a self inflicted would on one of my feet.
Right now there is a real head in the sand approach at a senior level. Ignoring the reality of what’s in front of their noses.

Fizz :-)
I have 12 working days left.
I sent the Chief Exec an email on Friday, (accidentally posted the un-redacted version yesterday!):
Dear CEO, I’m not sure that you and I have ever spoken personally, but after ten years’ service with YourCo, I found myself resigning on 15th June, with a view to taking (very) early retirement. After a couple of weeks, I thought that perhaps I had been a bit hasty, and requested moving to part-time working, for a phased retirement, the only concession I asked for was to be paid overtime if required to work additional days. The role was determined to be full-time at the moment, and YourCo don’t pay overtime, and so my request was declined. I’m quite sad that we couldn’t trial the part-time working, even on a short-term, temporary basis, especially as my immediate line manager was supportive of the proposal and the Agile Working guide states “Start from a point of ‘yes’ wherever possible”. As far as I am aware, we have not yet recruited a replacement. I was equally surprised not to have been offered an exit interview with HR. I had assumed this was a standard practice. Anyway, YourCo’s loss is my garden’s gain and I’m looking forward to spending more time with my family – my husband is already asking how soon I might un-retire and go back to work! Best wishes, Fizz
I hope he has words with the IT director. Although I doubt it.

Stay above ground.
Travel.
Volunteer a bit.
That sounds about right.

It would be good to give something back to the earth to replace some of what I've taken in an environmental sense.
It's not a late night post, as I'm travelling

Sigh
That's a good email Fizz, sadly I'm sure it will be ignored. 12 days is exciting!! (starts knitting bunting)

My leaving “do” is sadly lacking. As I don’t attend an office any more, I don’t really have much of a team (and ultimately that’s why I’m leaving, I think). I specifically requested no card or collection, and on my last day I’m meeting my boss for a coffee in the local Asda to hand over my kit. (I had suggested going in to the office, he was the one that wanted Asda).
