Yes, have looked at the hal plans Schnecke I guess I need to figure out what I can realistically commit to and plan around that
Think I'll need to do pros and cons of the RW 4:15 plan and Hal's
And lol at mere mortals, think my highest ever week was 46 Just trying to build back to 25-30 at the minute

Will follow this thread with interest. My half time suggests a 4.30 marathon, but I am no where close.
Good luck.

Me too htf. I have a sub-2 half but am still 10 minutes over target for the full. I have followed a RW plan in the past, but have tweaked it now and follow my own, based on what events I want to fit in. My highest mileage weeks are around the 50 mark. Would be interested in alternative plans as mine obviously requires adjustment

You are doing better than me Coachie. I just had complete CBA weekend. Then I went for a run yesterday evening and felt sooooo much better - doh!
I think I am going to follow a Hal Higdon plan, but increase the length of the weekday runs. I am convinced that increasing the weekday run distances makes the long run not so onerous, and makes me less injury prone. (this is all relative to current training )

Oatcake, I think you could be right. Looking at other plans, they usually include a longer midweek run. Could be the way to go

Hey All,
Gonna follow this thread with interest. I'm no where near 4:30 but figure I should aim for something for the VLM

Good luck with the 4:30. I'll break it one day (only 5:08 to lose) but am no where near the fitness I was at Malta so will be watching this thread with interest.

I spy some real potential sub-4.30 marathoners in here! Looking forward to seeing everyone's progress once you all start training
