Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

It looked the same course to me, although I only caught the last two laps…

Swiss 123 really took me by surprise - great result for Jolanda, just when I was wondering if that big crash she had, had taken the edge off her riding.

7th is a decent outcome for Evie too and she looked pleased with it. I found it quite patronising of the BBC commentator saying ‘disappointment for Evie…’ she didn’t look disappointed to me.

Looked the same, but they had widened some of it due to the rain to give more line options.

HP: A tropical storm had arrived meaning some of the sections needed to be changed, but it's nominally the same course. I'm not sure I saw anything actually unrideable though. twitter.com

Ah I missed that there was a tropical storm. That makes sense now. There were a couple of bits early on where everyone was off and pushing.

It was hard to get traction on those sections. The laps I watched everyone seemed to be riding it all. I just saw one person lose enough traction that she got off and ran up - might have been Terpstra.

Indeed she did, Gobi. She’s going to be one to watch. I’m surprised Lecomte didn’t finish within the top 3 too - some really good talent in the women’s XC field at the moment. And we have Hattie Harnden as a possible future multi-discipline option too.

Lecomte was slightly surprising given her season so far; maybe over peaked, or pressure threw her, but got to feel a little for her. I agree, Vas was very impressive, especially given her start position.

Just caught up with the women's XC. Really happy Jolanda Neff won. Thought Lecomte would have got a medal as she certainly has the skills and riding in the wet doesn't bother her going by her WC race in Les Gets.

Felt sorry for Kate Courtney she seemed to have gotten caught up at the start and couldn't get herself back.
