I really enjoyed Bushy parkrun when we did a coach trip there the other week. Nice and flat, and worth it just to see how they handle the finishing funnel :-). We weren't the only celebrities ![]() I'm not quite following Chris' description of the longer route - are there any routes on here you could link to please Chris? I'm wondering if I could do parkrun *and* the longer route. |

The longer route is the shorter route plus an out-and-back distance of your own choice along the Thames Path. E.g. for an extra six miles: http://www.fetcheveryone.com/route-1761691 For anyone who wants to take the ferry, just west of miles 2 & 4 on that route there are two little islands. The ferry crosses the river between them. You can see a dim dashed line on the map if you look carefully. |

Weather forecast is reasonable - sun, with 1 mm of rain over the day. I bet that changes significantly every day, or even a couple of times a day. |

Who knows what the weather will be like in a week's time, after all, it will be summer by then. At least I'll be able to bring a number of changes of clothes and the kitchen sink if I'm driving up. ![]() |

I have checked out - by walking, it's a long story - the short route apart from the bit along the river. It's fine and easy. I have a route to upload for your delight. I'll do that tonight. I also checked out the Pheasantry. It seems very pleasant and the food plain but good. Just a mite pricey, but a pot of tea was £1.80, so not ridiculous. If we eat outdoors, there are friendly jackdaws to ensure we never take our eyes off our food. Anyway, rest of info later when my various devices' batteries have recharged. |
